mission success!

I have been gone for a while! Gone on a mission trip to Jauregui Mexico. We put columns steel beams and floor support in for a concrete roof which was poured on Friday. We also held a 5 day vision clinic in this town of approx. 300 families. I believe the final count of people seen was around 650. Great turn out and lots of hearts touched, including ours! God is so good!

Friday

For most Friday means the start of the weekend, two days off before going back to work. For some, it's the middle of a work week and sometimes the busiest time of their week. For still others, like me, it is just another day.

My thoughts are on the ones who work the Monday through Friday jobs. The job usually takes you away from your family for most of the day and when you do get home family time is very short.
What would happen if you treated your family with as much care and time on the weekends as you did your job during the week? When was the last time you put effort into being family? Throw a family party, invite friends to celebrate your family. Decorate like a kid, play really silly games, take lots of pictures and share want they mean to you.

Will He ?

How do we know if God is calling us to do something specific? More and more I am asked to do something, go somewhere or contribute (time, money or talent) to something. They all seem like good things but I have to ask; is God calling me or are there others that might want to distract me, wear me out or discourage me?
My first step is to go to Him in prayer and just ask. Next I listen to what others (my brothers and sisters in Christ) are saying. I ask myself, is this for Him or for me? Am I approaching this as a humble servant?
I ask these things because I sat in on an interactive class tonight and some of this came up. Some of the answers were; is it consistent with Gods word? Do you have a passion for it? Do you feel like you have a gifting for it? Is it confirmed by Gods people?
Wow, Is God trying to get my attention? I have been struggling with these things for the last week and again just before the class I had another "will you".
So you might ask, will he? And I ask you, will He?

It's been a long time!

I haven't been here for a few years now. Somewhere down the road I will probably tell why.
I don't really know where to start other than to say my life has changed drastically again. I have been posting on Face book and now am feed up with them. Their changes remind me of a secrete government dealing out what they want and not what the people want. I will start posting my daily quotes here instead. As I state that I have to say there are times when I do not have access to a computer and will out of touch for awhile.
I will have to also learn how to use this site and refine my ways, so please be patient with me and excuse my flubbs.
